TALKS NORTH - LIVES SOUTH

Originally from the North of England, now living in West London where I find my fold-down desk today. Strongly influenced by family nostalgia both old & new.

LOVE, LETTERS

The NATO phonetic alphabet is widely used to identify letters precisely when communicating from a far. For me, it has never stuck. My S is always Sausage - Lincolnshire of course, what is Sierra anyway? N is for Knickers…. oh wait….
I’ve always adored visual Alphabets and am endlessly fascinated by other’s alphabetical logics - their unique reference points and the building blocks of their story.

INSPIRATION

Growing up in Ladbroke Grove, my two boys, saw far more Pigeons than Pigs. I wondered what was our Alphabet?…..and then drew it.

The Ogna Proggle alphabet is a celebration of our world in illustrated, decorative letter form that can be curated alone or built into names.

OGNA WHAT?

On a childhood trip many moons ago, my dad pulled our car aside to kindly let oncoming cyclists pass on a windy Scottish road.

'Thanks mate ' the cyclists called.

My dad responded with ‘Ogna Proggle ’.

His ’Oh, no problem ’ had come out differently.

Spoken communication isn't always reliable…
Ogna Proggle is the daft things we say to explain our world away.
